Ugh, Christmas shopping.

All I want for Christmas is the AU where I actually stay on top of my gift buying, have thought about ideas for everyone weeks in advance, and don’t spend the entire week beforehand frantically scouting the internet for anything remotely workable that will also somehow ship in time.

What do you mean, this is all a result of choices I’ve made and I do actually have the opportunity to adjust my behavior? Too OOC.

Anyway, I just discovered one of the department stores near my apartment stays open until midnight (????), so I guess the direction my post-work evening will take is coming into focus.

dude this is so relatable. i'm on vacation with my best friend right now as a post-finals week treat but i put off christmas shopping until now so i just have to scramble to find gifts for the fam during rest and relaxation time :(

Ugh, what a tragedy! But that is exactly always me -- I am apparently fully incapable of learning from my regret every year, like I actively seek out more anxiety to invite into my life. (I hope you're having fun anyway, though! And congrats on making it through finals.)

Yeah, I am fairly sure by this point that I will never be the kind of grown-up who achieves timely Christmas shopping, and mostly I'm ok with that, but my god it's stressful this week. ;)

I feel like I’m still kind of in denial about it, and like to pretend to myself I will one day ascend to this level of adulthood, so you’re really a step ahead here.

Without anxiety, would the holidays even be real, though?
